Aṭ-Ṭabarānī: more than 1000 Shaikhs.
Abul-Fityān: 3700.
Abul-Qāsim ibn ʿAsākir: 1380.
Abū Saʿīd ibn as-Samʿānī: 7000 Shaikhs, and this is something no one accomplished apart from him.
Ad-Dimyātī: 1300 …’”
