Uthaimeen on the Statement of Umar رضي الله عنه, ‘Whoever has been blessed in something, let him stick to it.’

Shaikh Uthaimeen, may Allaah have mercy on him, said, “A very beneficial statement has been reported from ’Umar ibn al-Khattaab رضي الله عنه which is, ‘Whoever has been blessed in something, let him stick to it,’ an amazing statement which if weighed against gold would outweigh it. Ya’ni [it means] when a person performs an action and he sees the blessing and the fruits [of carrying it out] he should stick to it. We can give an example of this through the condition of the student of knowledge who has started studying a book or revising it and who finds abundant good and finds that he is benefitting and profiting [from it], so we say to him, ‘Stick to that and finish it and don’t say, ‘This is [just] an abridged, small book.’”
