“And on Monday 6th Shaʿbān 726ah Taqiyyud-Dīn Aḥmad ibn Taymiyyah was imprisoned along with his brother Zainud-Dīn ʿAbdur-Raḥmān in the fortress of Damascus, and Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah was beaten and paraded around Damascus on a donkey because of what he had said about intercession and seeking tawassul through the Prophets …”

Maybe next time you can say what he (ibn al-Qayyim) exactly believed or said about the subjects mentioned. I thought he allowed intercesion through prophets names, by seeking their shafa’a? And it looks like this text confirms this and that he was beaten.
Not everyone who is following this blessed blog of yours knows every detail.

Wa alaikum salaam wa rahmatullaah, wa iyyaak.
He was beaten and paraded like that for rejecting interceding through the Prophets and for saying that people should have the intention to visit the Prophet’s Mosque and not his grave ﷺ when they set out to go to Medinah. You can read Shaikh al-Albaani’s book on tawassul here.
